About Iyasco Jeremiah
Evidence-driven support for organisations doing the hard work.
Iyasco Jeremiah Leadership Strategy and Development Consult is a consulting, training and capacity-development practice built for local NGOs, CBOs, small and medium enterprises and the M&E professionals inside them.
Mission
Make evidence usable.
Too much development data is collected, cleaned and filed — and never used. Iyasco Jeremiah exists to shorten the distance between what field teams record and what leaders decide. We design the systems, build the skills and facilitate the learning conversations that make that happen.
Approach
Practical over theoretical.
We start from what your team can realistically maintain. That usually means simpler tools, clearer routines and more coaching than a conventional consultancy would offer. The measure of success is whether the system still runs a year after we leave.
Our values

Moments from the field.
In June 2026, Iyasco Jeremiah took part in the Youth Leadership in Emergencies (YLIE 2.0) Training of Trainers at MS-TCDC in Arusha, Tanzania — a five-day residential programme organised by Global Platforms, the Network for Youth-Led Activism and ActionAid International, bringing together young leaders and facilitators from more than 15 countries.
Rather than lectures, the training was built on participatory learning: role-plays, simulation exercises, storytelling and public narrative, resource mobilisation and action planning. Participants strengthened their practice in facilitating youth leadership across the full humanitarian cycle — preparedness, response, recovery, resilience and accountability — so that young people are equipped to lead in emergencies, not just take part in them.

Participatory Review & Reflection Visit — Borno State
During a participatory review and reflection visit to Borno State, Iyasco Jeremiah held a key informant interview with Ambassador Usman Aliyu, Director General of the Borno State Agency for the Great Green Wall (BOAGGW), in Maiduguri. The visit also included assessments of two partner organisations, two government agencies and three communities affected by the protracted crisis in Borno — grounding the review in the day-to-day realities of the people it is meant to serve.

Training of Trainers on Youth Leadership in Emergencies — Maiduguri, 2025
From 15 to 17 July 2025, Iyasco Jeremiah organised a three-day Training of Trainers on youth leadership in emergencies at Rod Bola Suite, Maiduguri. The training brought together young people and youth-led organisations from Borno and Yobe States.
He facilitated the session on self-care and collective care: introducing participants to the concept of self-care, sharing practical self-care tools and leading them through some of the techniques. When self-care is institutionalised within an organisation, it becomes collective care.

Why participatory tools and methods
Iyasco Jeremiah designs his trainings around participation because people learn best when they are actively engaged, not when they are passively receiving information. Learning by doing is one of the most effective ways to build knowledge and skills: it lets participants test ideas, reflect on their experience and apply what they have learned to their own context.
This approach reflects well-established principles of adult learning. Adults bring valuable knowledge and experience to the room, and they learn best when that experience is respected, drawn out and built upon. In his sessions, participants are not just recipients of content — they are co-creators of learning, and each person contributes directly to the success of the session.
Long, slide-driven sessions often lose participants’ attention, especially in full-day trainings. Discussions, group work, practical exercises, role plays and reflection keep energy high and learning meaningful. Facilitation becomes a shared process in which learning flows between participants and the facilitator — especially valuable in humanitarian and emergency settings, where shared, practical knowledge saves time and builds resilience.

Youth Leadership in Emergencies — Nanyuki, 2023
In 2023, Jeremiah Iyasco participated in the Youth Leadership in Emergencies Training of Trainers in Nanyuki, Kenya, where he was equipped with participatory training tools and Global Platforms methodologies. The experience strengthened his approach to facilitation: creating space for participants to share their knowledge, learn from one another and take an active role in shaping responses to emergencies.
Reflections shared by fellow participants and facilitators describe participatory and action learning, with young people at the centre of humanitarian decision-making. These photos capture the connections, cultural exchange and shared moments that accompanied that learning.
